What a beautiful ending。 This storyline was absolutely amazing to read and the characters were great。 I was hooked right from the first page。 Fantastic all the way through。

It was fun watching Duran woo Rayne。 I can't stop laughing when he asked Narcial for advice on Earth's tradition on courtship。 I totally understand why Rayne cannot stopped herself from swooning when Duran is around。 He was such a sweet thing but there are time's I've wanted to smacked him in the head。 He can be denied at times but I soon learned why。 But he soon learned his worth and claimed it and his new family。I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a re It was fun watching Duran woo Rayne。 I can't stop laughing when he asked Narcial for advice on Earth's tradition on courtship。 I totally understand why Rayne cannot stopped herself from swooning when Duran is around。 He was such a sweet thing but there are time's I've wanted to smacked him in the head。 He can be denied at times but I soon learned why。 But he soon learned his worth and claimed it and his new family。I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。 。。。more

Rayne is a single mother who joined the mail order bride program on Ferlaern。 Durran is a scarred warrior who doesn't believe he has a chance at getting a mate。 He's the head trainer for the trudiers。 She finds that he's hiding a runt so that he's not ordered to dispose of it。 Her and her daughter get involved in taking care of her with him。 Rayne worked for a landscaping company on Earth so when the trees start dying that they live in she is determined to find out why。 Good book, I enjoyed it。 Rayne is a single mother who joined the mail order bride program on Ferlaern。 Durran is a scarred warrior who doesn't believe he has a chance at getting a mate。 He's the head trainer for the trudiers。 She finds that he's hiding a runt so that he's not ordered to dispose of it。 Her and her daughter get involved in taking care of her with him。 Rayne worked for a landscaping company on Earth so when the trees start dying that they live in she is determined to find out why。 Good book, I enjoyed it。 。。。more

Durran is the stereotypical scarred dark, taciturn and brooding。 The ones I always ultimately have a spot spot for。 He has not had the easiest or best upbringing thanks to his retched father and so found comfort with the animals。 He has the kindest heart and though he is in love with Rayne he has absolutely no idea how to go about it or any belief that he is worth anything。 Rayne sees beyond the appearance to the sensitive and gentle person inside。 If she can just get him to see that she is prac Durran is the stereotypical scarred dark, taciturn and brooding。 The ones I always ultimately have a spot spot for。 He has not had the easiest or best upbringing thanks to his retched father and so found comfort with the animals。 He has the kindest heart and though he is in love with Rayne he has absolutely no idea how to go about it or any belief that he is worth anything。 Rayne sees beyond the appearance to the sensitive and gentle person inside。 If she can just get him to see that she is practically throwing herself at him!! I really liked this second book in the series。 Rayne and Durran are a really sweet pairing。 The dangers of the new alien world of the human women kept things exciting when Durran was able to step up and show Rayne what a great catch he is as a warrior on top of being really sweet too。 The smexy times were hot, but what really made me like these two so much was that they were both strong in their own ways, both had some insecurities to work through, and they were both really decent, caring charac I really liked this second book in the series。 Rayne and Durran are a really sweet pairing。 The dangers of the new alien world of the human women kept things exciting when Durran was able to step up and show Rayne what a great catch he is as a warrior on top of being really sweet too。 The smexy times were hot, but what really made me like these two so much was that they were both strong in their own ways, both had some insecurities to work through, and they were both really decent, caring characters。 I love it when two characters are such a great match。I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。 。。。more

I loved this book! It's my first book by this author。 And I have a weakness for heroes who believe they are unworthy of a mate because of scars or their appearance or some unfortunate circumstance that they have no control over。 I love when a strong caring woman or man comes along and shows them that they are perfect just as they are and that their actions and gestures mean more than appearance。 I grab at any of these kinds of books whenever I spot them。 So this book about a shy scarred alien ma I loved this book! It's my first book by this author。 And I have a weakness for heroes who believe they are unworthy of a mate because of scars or their appearance or some unfortunate circumstance that they have no control over。 I love when a strong caring woman or man comes along and shows them that they are perfect just as they are and that their actions and gestures mean more than appearance。 I grab at any of these kinds of books whenever I spot them。 So this book about a shy scarred alien male unwanted by anyone was at the top of my TBR list。 Sometimes these books are absolutely wonderful, and sometimes they fall short and are disappointing。 This book was wonderful! The characters are all wonderfully developed, layers more to them than whatever you first see of them, learning tidbits the more you see them throughout the book。 They were all pretty likable, except for a few that definitely weren't (and weren't meant to be)。What I didn't expect was how rich and detailed this world is。 It feels alien。 It doesn't feel like just being told these are aliens, getting a description of a non-human race, but then they act like regular humans so you feel like you're not even reading about an alien species。 Beyond physical description, the Ferlaern have a rich culture and traditions, from living in treetops in homes made from dangling blossoms that you can ascend to via tugging on vines ("vine power") to the giant hornet-like trundiers that the Ferlaerns bond with and ride/fly。 Listening to two of the Ferlaerns discussing their understanding of human courting customs (and not actually understanding it/interpreting it properly) was the funniest and my favorite part of the book。 I loved that I learned about their way of life as I read and witnessed it rather than simply being told。My only disappointment was that the last 15% of the book, when things finally settled and certain events boiled to a head, felt a little too quick and rushed。 I won't mention specifics as to not give anything away。 But we get this lovely bonding and slow burn between Durran and Rayne throughout the whole book, and once they are finally committed to each other, instead of seeing how their lives change to accommodate each other, we start six days later and are told things changed and how (things didn't really feel different) rather than read them as they happen。 I get it's probably because not too much changed, but it still would have been nice to see instead of being told in a couple paragraphs。 I was a little disappointed。 When one the main problems (plot-wise) came to a head, it was resolved too easily to feel entirely satisfying。 My brain immediately thought to a Disney movie where some quick event- some misstep or force of nature- that took out the villain for everyone and just like that the threat is over。 You get your happy ending, but want more fight, more conflict, more justice。 (There is still an underlying threat that began in the first book, is hinted at here, and will continue in the next, but the main threats to this book are resolved。)This book was a welcome treat that I loved so much more than I imagined。 I will definitely be going back to read the first one, and then continuing with the third when it releases in September。 I wholeheartedly recommend it! 5 stars。 。。。more

Loved this one more than the first book in the series but it had everything to do with Duran and Rayne。 I loved these two together。 Rayne was a strong and smart heroine。 Duran was so unsure and believing he was undeserving of her that it took a bit for them to connect。 Don't get me wrong, there was some steamy scenes leading up to them committing to each other but man, did he put up a fight!
